Current Police Issues

There are many current issues that the police face today and they are trying to make these issues better. The issue today that stood out the most to me was the relationship between the police and citizens. The news constantly talks about different situations that the public encounters with the police, right now all of the stories have been a negative light on the police. This negative light have cause issues among the police and community. In order for this to be fix, there must be a building foundation for the police and the citizens of the community. This issue throughout the history of policing has come up and the police administration has tried to make a improvement on this issue throughout the years, but it has come difficult in some situation.
In some incidents like the prohibition era where many police came corrupt to gain more money. This cause the communities to not trust the police. In order for this happen the administration must modeled this for it to be effective for the community (Offices of community oriented policing serves, n.d). The Community-oriented policing serves (COPS) (n.d) stated that different components has to come together to make and strengthen the organizational culture. Also when every component is together, then the department can be more clear with its community. By this happening it will help with the building of trust between the police and community (Offices of community oriented policing serves, n.d).
