I know a sound agenda is the key to successful meetings. I utilize my team of department heads to prepare agenda items to keep meetings efficiently on-point.

I always plan and organize work involved in researching program suggestions by the Commission and staff along with reporting analysis results. I encourage participants to attend meetings to answer commission questions and provide additional information. I expect each department head to own their position and the work assigned while I maintain a high level overview of the entire process.
12. POLICY AND ADMINISTRATION:
a. The City Manager has a proper sense of understanding of the differences between policy and administration while assisting to make policy without unduly forcing his own opinion.
I update policies and procedures as issues arise. However, I would like to retain consultants to assist my team so as to become more proactive instead of reactive with updates.
13. FORGES COMPROMISES:
a. The City Manager has the ability to resolve the numerous conflicts inherent in municipal government.
I have shown the ability to work with other units of government as well as private sector stakeholders while building unity and trust to resolve the numerous conflicts inherent in municipal government including Bingham Township, Clinton County and St. Johns Public Schools.
b. The City Manager is a good negotiator.
I have shown the ability to negotiate with both private and public entities to help them understand local issues so as to advance the cause and the betterment of the city. Examples of my negotiating prowess include agreements I have made with organizations such as:
