Climate change, as well as pollution and many other factors, are threatening the polar bear’s natural habitat. This marine species are dependent on the ice to be able hunt to get their energy source and survive in the Artic. Unfortunately, the quantity of the floating ice in the Arctic region is diminishing every year. This ice loss is caused by the global warming and some factors of anthropogenic origin. These animals are becoming sick as a result of the pollutants that get to the Artic Sea. Polar bears obtain all of these pollutants through the food web.The population of the polar bear is in danger and it continues to decline every year. The majority of the factors that contribute to the decrease of the polar bear are from "anthropogenic origin" (Dybas, 2012, p. 1017). Dietz estimated that some products like the mobile telephones and the computers produce chemical substances that affect the vital organs of the polar bear, therefore, a decrease in the use of these products will improve the habitat of the Ursus maritimus (cited in Dybas, 2012, p. 1018). Another way that will be able to improve the existence of the polar bear would be to reduce the levels of greenhouse gasses because according to a study realized by Amstrup et al. (2010), these gasses alter the temperature of the Arctic (cited in Stirling and Derocher, 2012, p. 2702). Diminishing "human habitation throughout the Artic, manufacturer activities, and toxic substances" can help the improvement of the polar bear’s survival, since these factors affect negatively the habitat of this animal (Stirling and Derocher, 2012, p.
