Japan because each fictional Pokemon region is based off a real part of Japan. I will admit that
Pokemon has not taught me an incredible amount about Japanese culture, but it has created an insatiable curiosity that can only be filled by study abroad. To me, study abroad is an opportunity to take advantage of the freedoms granted by college is an opportunity to learn new thing, have fun, and to grow in a world that can be intimidating and costly. That is a pretty intimidating thought, but it is also interesting. For all my life, I have only known what is American; it would be wonderful to see things from the other side of the tracks. I want to know what people from other nations think of world problems and I want to use their opinions to challenge and better mine. I also hope that by meeting people with an open and curious mind that I can make friends that I can talk to once I return home and that I can network in the future too. I would love to be able to say I have friends around the world and I would also treasure the opportunity to work abroad. On top of the fact that study abroad is a great way to meet people, I hope to learn about my host countries culture. I know that every nation has a rich history and that most of them are proud to share their ancestors triumphs. I have always loved hearing stories about samurai, knights, philosophers, explorers, and other famous groups. To see their homelands and to learn their leaders would be amazing. It is one thing to read about samurai, for instance, in a book, but to see where they lived, and what sort
