Pokemon Go Dangerous

Decent Essays
Last summer it seemed that everyone in Muncie was playing Pokémon Go. They would go outside and walk around and catch Pokémon. Pokestops would be in random places and get poke balls and more. But there is a downside Pokemon Go is more dangerous than it may seem. People can get hit by cars, hackers can change the game to make it more dangerous. Pokémon Go is a target for innocent people. Hackers can set poke stops in dangerous places to kidnap people or kill them. There is an article that a girl was lead to a dead body in a river. Another danger is that a hacker can track you down. Instead of a poke stop being outside they can track you down to your house or lure you to their house . They will watch your surroundings and set poke stops there

Essentially he comes to a conclusion that those who play Pokémon GO become oblivious to their surroundings because they are too busy looking down on their phone. Pitts wrote this article to share his point of view on Pokémon GO players playing this game at sacred places after he read a tweet by ANC. His purpose was to let those who do play Pokémon GO, to put aside their phone and take a moment to really admire the memorials around them. Leonard Pitts develops an effective argument using a change of tone and anecdotes to appeal to ethos, pathos, and the reader’s…

After reading your argument against Pokemon Go, I can say without doubt that I do agree with you. The distractions that this game contributes to society does not equate to the good it does. Distracted walking and driving would not contribute to behavioral activation but rather to accidents that results in hospital visits or deaths. Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of accidents, adding one more factor to that equation results in more accidents which outweighs the ability of Pokemon Go to contribute to health. Pokemon Go contributed to people being lured into secluded areas where they are robbed by armed robbers.…

In the article Cellphone dangers for walkers by Jodi Mohrmann it discusses that people that text and walk while on cellphones are becoming just as dangerous as people who text and drive, often walking into streets or walking into others. The researchers say that from 2005 to 2010 the number of accidents that have happened from walking and texting have doubled, and that the number of emergency room visits is on the rise. I chose this article because researchers from the university of Ohio state suggest that manufacturers create a cellphone that locks during moments of movement. I disagree with this suggestion, and believe it is an unnecessary on the fact that people just need to be more aware of their surrounds, focusing more on what they hear and see.…

Why the Setting is Vital to the Plot in “The Most Dangerous Game” In “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell, there are two reasons of how setting is vital to the plot. For instance, the island earns the name it is given by suspicious sailors, “Ship Trap Island” because of the fake channel luring ships right onto the sharp rocks. General Zaroff makes a bogus passageway guiding ships to “safety”, when really it is a trap so that he can have new “prey” to hunt. The general explains all this to Rainsford, “‘They indicate a channel. . . where there is none; giant rocks with razor edges crouch like a sea monster with wide open jaws”’(8).…

Cell Phones Beware Since the dawn of time human’s main objective is to communicate with anyone or thing. This has led to the starts of many things for example God made Eve so Adam could communicate with someone like him thus the starting of the human race. Over the years humans have invented many things to communicate with people living faraway, for example one invention still being used today the telephone which believe it or not was invented in 1876 by Alexander Graham Bell. According to Digital Trends, Americans use their smart phones 4.7 hours per day. Much of this time on the phone occurs while doing other things such as walking and driving. Although the dangers of smart phone distraction while driving has received lots of attention, distracted walking has received very little. It's easy to see how distracted driving in a two ton car that can potentially kill both the driver and innocent victims is dangerous. However, many don't recognize that distracted walking can be equally dangerous.…

We live in a time where technology has become a huge requirement in our everyday lives. Everyone from preteens and even the elderly (old and old- old) seems to have their own smart phone, laptop, and even tablets. I think technology, including the internet is essentially good because it helps us communication, our education, navigation, and many other things that we need help with on a daily basis. If we compare and contrast the technology from twenty years ago and today, there are many things that have changed for the better.…

How phones effect your everyday life Rough Draft For many of us, myself included, our cell phone screens are the last thing we check before we go to bed at night and the first thing we look in the morning. I see people texting and driving and almost every day I am behind someone at a red light who is looking down when the light turn greens. When you eat out, it is completely normal to see patron's cell phones at the table by their beverage. Also normal to see them checking their device during the duration of their dining experience. You almost never see children (even toddlers) sitting at the table without a tablet or phone as they play a game or watch a show or movie.…
