I didn't know much about band and I honestly didn't even want to go to the first practice. I felt extremely awkward and out of place and I didn't know what to be doing, but everything after that point became worth it. I helped sit up props and carry pit items for our band and shut my mouth and enjoyed every second. It goes by too quick to not enjoy it. I helped with Point Pleasant Black Knight Marching Band's 2014 competition show Moulin Rouge and the 2015 show Chicago on Broadway as a band manager. I realized that I also wanted to tryout for Drum Major my 11th grade year. My band family and the well-being of band quickly started to become my main priority. They always help me and any other band member at any time of day. I'm lucky that I got the chance to be so close with them. I’ve gotten really close to one senior in particular. Madisyn Boswell quickly became one of the closest people in my life. She’s been one of the best influences on my life and she’s taught me to always try to find the positive in a situation. The quote “not sisters by blood, but sisters by heart.” perfectly describes us. I’m extremely lucky that she’s got my back. She’s always here for me even when I make stupid decisions and dumb comments. Without band I would’ve never been able to meet her. I hope that I will carry on some of her band influence and follow in her footsteps. She’s the best person I could ask for in a role model. I honestly couldn’t imagine my life without my sister by my side! I hope to put an amazing influence on one of my younger band friends like she did for
