1.0 Introduction Data collection on Bruny Island yielded several readings associated with climate, topography, and GPS. These readings have been analysed using visual techniques before refining to report on the reasoning behind the different trends in the datasets. As Bruny Island experiences (a general) North-Westerly wind direction, it became evident that vegetation and the topography of one sand dune transect would impose an effect on the recorded wind speed (or velocity) readings. The results associated with the data collected has confirmed this theory. Unfortunately, there is many limitations of the dataset that hindered on the overall quality of the results; especially those associated with the methodology of recording.…

It also protects coastal resources from damage of large tides which wash away the sand dunes. Sand Dunes are there to protect urban areas from high intensity storms as well as a resilient barrier towards destructive wind and waves.…

Managing to break free from the first set of waves, I pushed forth into the next set of unceasing five foot waves. With legs bent upwards and arms plunging one after the other in a Michael Phelps mentality to finish the race with swift strokes, I kept my body centered in the middle of my seven foot board just like my grandpa positioned me to do so. Eminent to the gray-haired “townies” who create their own spindrift from whipping the tail of their boards high in the air, is a homely beach, Rockpiles.…
