There are many great aspects to the firm as well as aspects which need to be improved upon. CEO, Chris Pickering, currently has four decades of material and equipment in his possession. This shows he has experience and knowledge as well as an established set of resources. He also has multiple positions within the firm as well as being CEO including CFO, CIO and more. This can have negative effects such as each job not being fulfilled correctly or as efficiently as it could. THe CEO has a few people working under him in the firm who work mainly with the leather and logistics of the business. However, the current focus of the business is not on marketing which means the brand is not being advertised or it is an ineffective method to market their products. Leatherworks is currently catering to demand that satisfied customers are providing to them. The business is waiting until people approach them instead of going out and making customers aware of them. Therefore he is failing to position himself in the market. However, where the company is based it does not reflect on the premium image of the brand. Leatherworks has a nimble business model which is of a huge advantage to the business. This means that the company does not need much lead time before making a product as they often have inventory on hand as well as the right people to produce the products. Additionally, Leatherworks does not have a solid business structure within the firm which means that the necessary processes in place may not be able to be carried out in certain circumstances where they should. A clear business structure provides ease of processes and a good flow of communication amongst employees. A solid business structure helps to keep objectives in line and the goals of the business
