Poem Analysis : Proverbs, There Are Multiple Verses About Having A Respectable Work Ethic

In the book of Proverbs, there are multiple verses about having a respectable work ethic in order to live life skillfully. “Poor is he who works with a negligent hand, But the hand of the diligent makes rich. He who gathers in summer is a son who acts wisely, But he who sleeps in harvest is a son who acts shamefully” (Proverbs 10:4-5). This verse means that you have to work hard in order to be successful, and you cannot be lazy when the work needs to be done. “He who tills his land will have plenty of bread, But he who pursues worthless things lacks sense” (Proverbs 12:11). This verse implies that people who work hard will be successful, but people who are consumed with meaningless things lack wisdom. “The hand of the diligent will rule, But the slack hand will be put to forced labor” (Proverbs 12:24). This verse explains that how the people who work hard will prosperous and will be in control of the lazy people. “In all labor there is profit, But mere talk leads only to poverty” (Proverbs 14:23). This verse means when you work you will gain goods, but someone who talks about doing something, but doesn’t actually do it, won’t have anything. “ Laziness casts into a deep sleep, And an idle man will suffer hunger” (Proverbs 19:15). This verse means that people who are lazy spend too much time sleeping, meaning they avoid doing anything important, which results in that they will perish because they want meaning but thier carelessness doesn’t allow them to have it. “ He who tills…
