Poem Analysis: I Never Saw Another Butterfly

“Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country”-Charles E Weller. The call to action is one of decisive and prudent mentality that starts with a simple “yes”, yet time and time again, hesitancy hinders the simple stimulus that could inadvertently change lives. Partly due to fear and uncertainty, the other majority derives from fondness for the shallow, calm waters of life, but unless a strong gale sets human immobility into motion, there will be no call to action. Well, at least not in a way shown by the Atlanta Boys Choir. The willingness to act on social inequality and the true generosity of the ABC was my impetus to comprehend the imperfections of my vicinity. Appreciation for others’ differences rejects the predisposition to stereotypes.
