After exploring through the Pen America site, I found a poem that I found very interesting. The poem is called “Explorer” by Candace Williams. This poem discusses how the explorer comes to America bringing their talents in order to to help them prosper. The speaker than goes on saying how the work the explorer is doing is due to his desires. I believe that the explorer is an immigrant coming to America because the way the speaker describes him, it sounds like he is starting up a whole new life for himself. Later on in the poem, the speaker says how the explorer has seen so much, he does not have feelings for them anymore.
