Why Is Edgar Allan Poe Wrong

The Mysterious Poe Edgar Allan Poe is an author that most people would know from reading one of his stories during an English class. Poe has written many works that have been read by many through out time. Some say he has been an inspiration; others simply enjoy his work. Then there are some people who find his mysterious life to be the most enjoyable part. Edgar Allan Poe is known as an inspiration in the U.S. and all of American literature, but his interesting life inspired his writings that make him well known today. Edgar Allan Poe had short and hard life. Poe was very young when his father left and mother passed away (McCabe). He had struggled through his later life when it came to work. In some of his jobs he was to review writings and always left harsh comments. He would call other writers works sickening and worthless. This behavior of his got him fired from job after job. As an editor that reviews others works they should give more suggestions and less insults towards the author’s works. Poe’s illness might have played a part in this whole mess. It may have caused him to have a harsh tone when it came to doing his job which led to him getting fired. It could have also been his use of opium to handle the stress of his life and work. That as well could have been a cause. There was also the alcohol consumption that might have played a part in the job mess of his. All of those could have taken a major part in his problems with work. Not being able to keep a job was just one more thing that took part in Poe’s harsh life. Not being able to keep one more than likely made it hard for him to be able to focus on writing and being able to make money to
