Developing Strategies The key to developing an effective strategy is knowing the consumers and identifying the needs and wants. We build our organizational strategy upon this information. From market research and analysis, we understand the majority of our services are for over the age of 65. The next two largest populations are age ranges 55-64 years and 45-54 years. As people age, preventive care and health screenings become even more important. A number of medical conditions become more prevalent in people over the age of 50 than in younger populations. Services from specialty providers also increase in demand. Our strategies and marketing plans should be geared towards these older populations. West Virginia is participating in the Medicaid expansion plan to extend coverage to low-income adults and as of July 2015, has enrolled 542,077 people in Medicaid and CHIP.
