This was the beginning of their long adventure into what soon would bring them closer to multiple new discoveries. Their mission is to travel all the way out past Neptune and record data on Pluto, the discarded planet (Space.com, 2015). Nine years later on July 14th 2015, the probe had finally reached its destination. Pluto, the hypothesised biggest dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt. Our Young Solar System written by Wayne Spencer specifically states “the Kuiper Belt objects we know of are actually much larger than comets” (Clayton, 2011). When in actual fact this probe has managed to uncover that not only does the Kuiper Belt house the already known dwarf planets and smaller icy rocks which could be the suspected key to unlocking short period comets. It is apparent that the Kuiper Belt does in fact hold objects roughly the same size as a short period comet, but it must now be exposed that these are what turns into comets (Lcogt.net, …show more content…
Apparently due to the methane sea on Titan scientists have hypothesised the theory that there could be possible forms of life within Titan’s seas. To prove or disprove this theory NASA has unveiled a concept design of a fully robotic submariner. This new toy need to be able to withstand Titan’s tidal currents which have been calculated to be stronger than that of Earth’s. But not only will this submarine by uncovering Alien life but also studying the Methane loss to further understand what is exactly happening on Titan (DNews, 2015). This has all been hypothesised by NASA but in actual fact they seem to be having trouble not only building the submarine so it won’t be crumpled by Titan’s tides but NASA also is finding problems with making the submarine fully operational without the use of human control (Electronicspecifier.com, 2015). This submarine theory has only been suggested in the last few months which means their idea is still only
