In “The Coffin” by Ray Bradbury, there is a very distinct plot. In this short story, the plot is very fast-paced. In the beginning of the story, the older brother, Charlie, was building his coffin. The younger, less successful brother, Richard, watched him in annoyance. No matter how hard Richard tried, he could not succeed like his brother, “Everything Charlie ever laid his hand to turned to money; everything Richard had ever tried in the way of a career had failed.” This made Richard furious. When Charlie died, his brother went crazy looking for his money. Curiosity got the best of him, and led to the climax of the story.
