Plot Clashes in Clash of the Titans Between Clash of the Titans, the original Greek story, and the 2010 movie, there are a variety of similarities and differences. Although both plot lines follow a similar pattern, the details in the Greek story are much different than the movie. Simply stated, in the movie version it is more about Perseus saving Princess Andromeda and reuniting with Io, while in the Greek mythology plot, Perseus is attempting to save his mother, Danae, from marrying the awful Polydectes by being challenged to chop off the head of Medusa.
Similarities of this story and movie are that King Acrisius ordered the execution of his daughter, Danae, and her son, Perseus. In both Clash of the Titans plots they were to be thrown

In the early to mid 1900’s racism was a problem in the United States of America, where minority groups were treated poorly for being apart of a minority. Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the many people to help abolish segregation, and he was supporting all minorities not just the black people. Remember the Titans took place during this time of segregation. The Titans-football team- was the only team in the state to have black and white americans play together. Coach Boone got rid of segregation on his team by 1 getting the players to get along, 2 he got them to respect each other, and 3 getting them to judge each other on their skill and personality instead of their skin color.…

“Remember The Titans” questions (Gerry) 1. I feel like what happened to Petey, Sunshine and the others was not the right choice for the person turning them down. Why would it matter who you are with or what you look like/race to get service at a restaurant. I think that everyone should get a fair share at being served at a restaurant, at the end of the day we are still people and have feelings therefore others should respect that. Also Petey had been to the restaurant before so why would they refuse to serve them and even kick them out.…

For our final and movie presentation I chose to watch the movie Remember the Titans. Many people may not know this, but the movie is a based on a true story. The true story is based on the 1971 Virginia state football champions from T.C. Williams High School. This was one of my favorite movies growing up, but I never watch it from the history side of it. Remember the Titans is a movie that is based around two schools being shut down and all those students being forced into a new school with both African Americans and whites.…

As times have evolve, stories regarding the struggles of many minority athletes have been used to motivate different sports teams. Football players watch Remember the Titans to realize the power of selflessness while being on a team, while basketball players might watch Coach Carter to remind a team that practice makes perfect. However, many that view these movies fail to realize that as much as directors and producers try to accurately portray these stories of hardships and overcoming adversity, there is still a degree of falsity when translating these films from reality to a moving picture. Pride is a movie starring Terrance Howard who portrays Jim Ellis, a swim instructor, once was a competitive swimmer, in which he sees potential in an old abandoned recreational swimming pool in the inner city of Philadelphia, so he renovates and reopens the pool establishing a new predominately African-American swim team. Ellis constantly goes back and forth with the city of Philadelphia fighting demolition of the very facility that holds their practices.…

Environmental Factors These refer to general situational factors that help keep a group together. An environmental influence is contractual responsibilities such as transfer rules, geographical restrictions or contractual obligations. An example of this in the film “Remember the Titans” is the geographical restriction of living in the town of Virginia. This restricting them to only one option and that is to play for the T.C Williams football team and is emphasised because “...none of [the] boys can afford to go to some other district just to play ball”. This helping keep them together as a group improving group cohesion.…

Remember The Titans is a movie based on a true story of a football team in Alexandria, Virginia. It was 1971, and T.C. Williams High School has just integrated. This doing created confusion in the town of Alexandria but especially in the football team which came from glorious days captained by coach Yoast (Will Patton) and formed by white players only. The school board decided to bring in a new coach, Herman Boone (Denzel Washington) in order to make the new team merge racially successfully. The movie is divided in two main narratives.…

My favorite film is Remember the Titans. The film is about a football team and their struggles with integrating an African American high school and a Caucasian high school. Taking place in Virginia in 1971, the film shows the racial tension of the community using techniques to make it cinematic. One of the ways that allows the viewer to understand the tension in the movie is with camera angles.…

A football field may be an exciting place where touchdowns are scored and games are won and plays are made, however from the eyes of a football player the field goes much deeper than that. As a former football player I can tell you that on that field, we are not a team, we are a family. Some of us hate each other and some of us are best friends, but when the game stands tall we are brothers. The movie that most accurately displays this brotherly bond regarding football players is Remember the Titans. When two schools integrated racially there was a great deal of conflict between the black and white students especially on the football team.…

Hesiod 's Theogony provides theories and stories of the representation of how the earth was developed and how the god 's started their beginnings. Ovid 's point of view provides a different depiction of Hesiod 's demonstration in the Book Metamorphoses as represented in his Theogony, a different depiction of the story The Creation as represented in his cosmogony, and a different depiction of the story The Four Ages, as represented in his cosmology. With all of these differences it is very interesting to find the similarities in the stories of Metamorphoses & Theogony told by the both Ovid and Hesiod. Both Hesiod and Ovid have similarities, as well as differences in their understanding of how the universe and mankind began.…

Kleos is a term often used in ancient greek epics that can be translated now to “renown”, or “glory”. Kleos, or glory, is an encompassing theme within Homer’s epic the Iliad, it means the achievement of one’s immortal fame. It is a glory that lives on past the expiry of ones mortal life and is often the driving force behind many attitudes and actions of the central characters within the Iliad. This is especially prominent in the case of Hector and Achilles, Both characters are considered hero’s in their own right and are looked up to by the greeks. They both are part of the war that is the driving source of plot within the Iliad, where they make decisions, sometimes against rational judgment, in honour of achieving their Kleos.…

Both of them have reason to be upset, and both of them decide to do something about it. Although their actions aren’t moral, they do successfully get revenge on their husbands. The fact that both of them seek revenge of their husbands elevates their transgressive qualities because it shows that both of them can destroy the man who supports them in life. The interesting difference between the two of them is that Clytemnestra kills her husband because he killed their child, while Medea kills her children because her husband left her. This elevates Clytemnestra as a mother but diminishes Medea as…

Athena, who was sent by Hera, appears only to Achilles and stresses that he must stop the fighting because if Achilles kills Agamemnon the Achaean Army would have been without their leading commander. The will of Zeus would change without him as the commander of the war and this would make Zeus angry because he told the other gods to stay out of the war. Athena would’ve failed to as an aid to the Achaeans because as an aid she should make sure that everything is in favor of fate. At another point in the battle Odysseus almost kills the son of Zeus, Sarpedon. As Odysseus begins to kill multiple people he starts to go towards Sarpedon “but no, it was not the gallant Odysseus’ fate to finish Zeus’s rugged son with his sharp bronze, so Pallas swung his fury against the Lycian front” (5.774-776).…
