Personal Narrative-Attempt To Escape

Attempt to Escape “Hurry up. It’s almost 5:00” my dad yelled from the back room. Mumbling I turned the hilarious video off and started to get ready. “I’m leaving” I yelled. Strapping on my shoes I walked out the door, ready for what hoped would be an exciting Jr. High dance. And cousin, let me tell you something, boy was I wrong as ever. It started off okay, I walked down my street towards the school, and since I lived almost right next to the freeway, I heard the rushing sound of hundreds of cars returning from their jobs to go see their families. Anyway, I walked onto the school campus and a white car pulled up in the school parking lot. “Hey, Nathan” The twins Nick and Kyle yelled.
“What up cousin” I answered. (They are

“That is the line for the purchase of a ticket.” I looked to where he was pointing, and Mr. Lo was sitting all alone in his booth with a roll of unsold dance tickets. When I came over to him, he lit up like a starving penguin who finally found a fish. “One ticket please,an” I told Mr. Lo as I handed him 5 dollars. He handed me a ticket and I stepped through the wrought iron gate. I instantly thought “Boring boring boring boring boring boring boring and boring” Everything in sight was pathetic. A sad little stand selling snacks,an area for pumpkin bowling, and the entrance to the gym where music was spewing like pus out of an infected wound. A couple minutes later Nick and Kyle joined me having been able to cut the line with their friend. “What should we do first?” Kyle queried.
“Not much to do here” Answered his

After that, I didn’t see him much. All this time I was thinking how to get out how to get out. The answer was to rush the unguarded section and just run for it. Just one problem none of the corners were completely unguarded. I was thinking to myself, How will I do this? I started to walk around the area. Unfortunately, the teachers thought I looked suspicious and told me to sit down. Well, I wasn’t going to just sit down. I started staying in one corner where my friend’s friend’s mother was. She didn’t know me so I thought I was good to rush the door. See the key to escaping is to stay anonymous. If you do, they can’t report you. So I tried to stay out of her vision. Well, she saw me. She started asking me my name. For about 10 minutes I tried to avoid it and a kid I hate ruined

On September 9th I attended a Phi Slam event called Kaleidoscopic Color-Dressed Chromatic Dance Fest. This was a social dance event that is completely dry and it is essentially a giant dance party. The guys in Phi Slam, which is a Christian organization that is similar to a fraternity but they do not do typical frat things such as drinking, hazing or smoking, set up the event. Phi Slam has events just like fraternities and sororities do. This event was just one of the many events they put on throughout the year.…

Roland parked the car and I hopped out and made my way to the to the school doors. We parked farther away than usual because we were playing our rivals from Underwood. For a small town, high school basketball against a rival school was about as big as it got. So, everybody was going to be there, and by everybody, I mean Katrina was going to be there. I flashed my student id to get in and then walked towards the student section.…

It had been a few weeks since your parents died in a tragic plane crash, though you didn’t feel all that sad. Of course, you were slightly upset, but it wasn’t that bad. Your parents had never really built an emotional bond with you. They were more like dictators, they forced you to be the three P’s: posh, proper, and polite. When you wanted to play outside with the other kids, they shook their head in distaste, your mother telling you that’s not what ladies do.…

It is the morning of July 4th, 2008: I groan as my mother gently whispers, “teneshi yene mar (Get up honey)”. Struggling I open my eyes and notice the trembling cabin, I turn to my mother with a look of concern and she reaches out her hand and squeezes my own looking up at me, “we are going to be okay Mar”. A couple of moments later our plane has landed, we gather up our belongings and make our way towards the exit filled with people attached to their screens and MP3 players. The airport is filled with an undercurrent of anticipation, impatience, and boredom; bodies scramble back and forth from one gate to another. My mother, attempting to balance three children, clasps my hand, holds my little brother to her waist and calls back to my older…
