Pledge About Texting And Driving

Decent Essays
I pledge not to text and drive because texting can wait. Texting while driving is also illegal in about 30 states so why do it? When texting and driving not only do you risk your own life but you risk the lives of others as well. You may think you can do it, but you can't. You’re taking your eyes off the road every time you text and drive, now how exactly is that safe? According to statistics a crash happens 3 seconds after a driver is distracted, and it approximately takes 5 seconds to take your eyes off the road to check your phone. Now to me thats a bit risky, it’s equivalent to driving with your eyes close. Now why don't people do that? Oh yeah, because it's dangerous, and so is texting while driving.
