Shooting around relieved the stress I was feeling, I would walk into the gym with my headphones in my ear, blasting insane pump up music to get me in the mood to start my hooping session and bumping my music, nodding my head to the beat. I could smell the freshly waxed wooden floors and the light fixtures up above shining bright illuminate light down on me as if I was in the spotlight in a grand theatre. I got myself situated with my Nike apparel and lacing my neon orange Nike hyperdunks up. I stepped on the right lower block of the court, I lifted my arms up, gripping the light-orange basketball, letting go of the ball with my right shooting hand to flick my wrist as the ball bounced off the backboard into the net to make a basket. Starting off, I always sat down on the bleachers and bounce the basketball under my legs back and forth, until I can look up at the bright lights above me and dribble with just the feeling of the grip on the leather without stopping until I stop counting to a hundred. Then, I would go up and down the court dribbling the ball in each hand with my other hand firmly pressed up against my lower back as my sweat dripped profusely onto the wooden floors. Putting my best effort, I made my dribbling skills perfect that day, with my soar fingers and arms making the aching go all the way to my lower spine. Having the ability to dribble the basketball with my hands without looking at the ball and seeing my hands contacting the ball, made the stress vanish.
