A noticeable reason is that the size of a musical company is bigger than a plays company. When I look at the size of a play it would only need for 10-15 cast members at the most. Compared to the 30 plus people who are needed for a cast in a musical. The reason is more background characters in musicals because it adds a sort realism to it. The size of the crew is much larger in musicals as well because the more props and sets that the more stage hands I would need. The relationship with the cast and crew members is intimate because there is only around fifteen people in a play. Although that does not mean that a cast and crew for a musical is not as close to each other, just on a different level of intimacy. Just because I feel the bonds that I formed with the smaller cast have been stronger compared to that of a larger cast. For example I was in a play called Rumors in this play it only called for about ten characters in it, as we were all friend to begin with we were all so close to begin with as we got closer to the performance we felt so in touch with our characters that the level of intimacy it gave us lead to us being able to be so comfortable with each other that we were able to improvise majority of the show. so in the end, the cast and crew come together to put on the performance that was pretty much a
