For starters, the Beatitudes are a number of teachings that Jesus gives during the Sermon on the Mount. His teachings are based on what the individual should be doing but if it’s extrapolated out, they show how an ideal society should function. Jesus teaches that we should not allow ourselves to become angry, "'But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment'" (Matthew 5:22). This seems like a highly unrealistic expectation, but it would work very well in concept. It also seems irrational to punish based on thoughts instead of actions, but he clearly gets his point across. Most of the bad things that happen in this world are from the anger of someone so if we could eliminate anger, we would have a more just society. We do not typically follow his teachings on anger though. People usually let their emotions run higher than they should and act rashly because of it.
