By reading the title I thought that it was apology about something Plato is guilty about, but as I read it, I came to know that the word “Apology” means defense in Greek and it was not defense of Plato, it was actually defense of Socrates against for what he was accused of in a trail. He was accused of Corrupting the youth and not believing in gods of states. I feel it was a wrong accusation against him as all he was doing was thinking in more depth about certain matters. He was trying to open the eyes of youth, who were just blindly following others and not thinking about what they were doing. I like how Socrates in defense starts cross-questioning one of the person who accused him. Socrates tells jury that he is innocent because he did not force anyone to listen to him; the only reason youth was listing to him because his questions were making sense and creating curiosity for answers. I think his argument was effective as amongst 500 votes he was only 30 votes away from not being guilty. As jury decided that Socrates was guilty, his penalty was death. He had the option to leave the city and move somewhere else, or he had the option to simply stop teaching, yet he
