Platoon is a 1986 film written and directed by Oliver Stone, in an attempt to use the war as a medium to express anti-war message. It is a new and effective approach by Oliver Stone, furthermore based on his personal life experiences as infantryman in Vietnam war.

The basic truth and fact that you gather and train humans to become killing machines is enough on its own to display the sickness and all what is wrong with waging a war. No one should expect such individuals that are placed in the settings of ‘HELL” to be humane or act in socially accepted ways. That is what Oliver Stone underline and explicitly portrait with PLATOON.
The character of Chris (played by Charlie Sheen), is in a way autobiographical presentation of Oliver Stone life experiences during the Vietnam war, and as well a story tell about how a character can evolve from “normal” human being who driven by patriotic feelings drop out of college to enlist into the army to fight for his country and values he believe in to wake up in a totally different reality were he recognizes the fact that this is not THE WAR that requires anyone sacrifice, but is a grinder machine for humans. both physically and psychologically started by politicians for no good reason at
