I would like to address the so-called Young-Earth viewpoint relating to catastrophic plate tectonics. The Young-Earthier reject the idea that the Earth is billions, millions, or even hundreds of thousands of years old, instead insisting that the Earth is only about 6,000 years old ("The 10 Best Evidences from Science that Confirm a Young Earth"). How this mindset relates to plate tectonics is their explanation of the great flood and its effects on the physical properties of the Earth’s crust.
