Plastic, is a novel written by Sarah N.Harvey. The novel focuses on cosmetic surgery and how teens are supporting it, or they are against it and willing to prevent it and stop it. Leah’s mom decided to gift her daughter a boob job for her sixteenth birthday. After Leah’s mom decision, Leah went to her friend Jack and told him about this enthusiastic new. Unfortunately, Leah didn’t receive the support that she wished to have. Instead, Jack was against this and tried to stop her because he was worried about her. Leah did not like his response and she considered this is a disgorgement. As a result, Jack started to look and search online about plastic surgery and its risks. Unluckily, the first doctor did not give Jack what he wanted, he refused to proceed on Jack because he was underage. However, Dr. Meyer agreed to the surgery for Jack. When Jack asked about how can the doctor convince his parents, he said that he will talk to them about the problems that Jack will develop if he did not do the surgery. After leaving the clinic and going home, Jack’s mom suggested that he should see Dr. Smithson who is a therapist that teaches a course on body image to help tens. After talking with the doctor about the risks and causes of plastic surgeries, Jack met Leah and told her about the risks to try and stop her. Sadly, his attempt tended to fail. Instead of stop the surgery, Leah yelled at Jack and described him as a jerk. Regardless, that did not discourage Jack rather than stimulated him to do more. Jack stated protesting in front of Dr. Meyer’s office trying uncover who he really is and let people be cautious when dealing with him.
