I should have listened to my mom. When I was in third grade, a funky fungus called plantar wart grew on my foot. A plantar wart is a fungus that grows on the bottom of feet, caused from friction and pressure. My mom drove me to the doctor’s office several times to freeze the wart off. Once the wart disappeared, it left a small hole in the ball of my foot; I was told to wear a band-aid with a sock over my foot at all times. I loved to walk around barefoot and so I walked around barefoot. About a week later I had to be taken to the emergency room to see what was wrong with my foot… again.
