Sparkles and disco lights are something nobody wants to miss. There are so many details that are involved in planning the perfect prom. In order to have a successful prom a network of dependable and reliable people are needed to pull it off. For example, at a job strong workers are the ones who step forward to pick up the slack by picking up extra shifts when needed. Another example of a strong worker is being dependable enough to train new workers. Just like being a reliable worker is a good trait in a given organization, it takes a reliable person to pull off a successful prom.

By showing up to late this disrupts the entire class. Joe sits in the back of the class talking to all of his friends about what he has missed. If Joe would show up to class on time he would not have to ask other students about what he had missed, thus not distracting them from learning. By Joe showing up late he makes it hard on all of the other students who are trying to do their work. If Joe is not willing to take his own education seriously, how is he going to take on the responsibility of planning the senior prom?
Some people think that Joe would be a good choice for the prom committee chair because he is popular and on the football team. It takes more than being a charismatic guy to plan a prom. The prom committee needs a person they can count on. Back when the football team needed Joe’s help with their annual fundraising car wash he did not show up to help. Instead he went to a party with a group of friends, completely blowing off his responsibility to his team. Just because Joe is on the football team does not mean he is a “team player”. She did not take the position seriously from the beginning. Sarah would show up to meetings late or not at all. She was given the job of picking a DJ for the prom and booking them for the date of the dance. Sarah lied to everyone about having booked one for the big day because she just did not care to do the work. Thankfully the committee found out about not having a DJ picked with enough time to hire one. If there would have been no music the entire prom could have been ruined. Sarah was a well-liked cheerleader and they thought that would be good enough, but just like Joe she was not responsible. It would be a mistake to have another person who is so irresponsible elected to the prom committee chair given what has happened in the past.
I think that Lisa would be a good fit for prom committee chair given the fact that she takes school seriously by showing up on time, being prepared, and that she has successfully helped on other committees. The committee needs someone who can take the job seriously. Since Joe shows up to school late, is not respectful of others learning, and cannot be counted on he would not be the right fit for the position.
