My Team Meeting Experience

During planning meetings for projects, I was always allowed inside the room to observe and express my opinion. Richard Green relished the idea of having as many opinions as possible so that he could better the radio station. We had weekly meetings on Monday from 5pm-6pm and Wednesday from 1pm-2pm. During the Monday meetings we would express how the week would go. On Wednesday’s we would discuss how we would finish off the week and express new ideas for the upcoming week. At the beginning of the internship, I didn’t receive any type of training because the workload was pretty common sense. Even working under deadlines was never a problem for me because everything pretty much came easy. My supervisor never encouraged me to pursue new ways of …show more content…
Technology literacy played a role in my internship because I had to use the internet to make various post promoting our radio station and our philanthropy ‘Toys for Tots’ event. I made roughly 3 posts per day, four times a week so that the word about our station and its event was out to the public. Audio and video productions were used at the beginning of the internship when I had to create an iMovie for the new students that were participating in the radio/television program at Indiana State University. The movie consisted of pictures and a video of the radio and television station while the song “The Is What You Came For” by Calvin Harris and Rihanna constantly played in the background. Interpersonal communication skills and public speaking and presenting skills coincided during this internship. Verbal communication, non-verbal communication, listening, questioning, self-management, public speaking, and presenting all played a role. When my group and I had to ask businesses for donations to use as incentives; all of these skills were put to the test. I had to speak and ask questions by presenting my information. I also had to listen to what they were saying without making any negative non-verbal gestures. We ended up receiving quite a few donations, and that just goes to show how well I utilized …show more content…
Not too many General Education concepts were used during this internship. The courses that relate the most to the internship would be classes such as English and psychology. The reason I chose these two is because they both have some type of correlations with my internship at the radio station. I needed Basic English in order to send out information via Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Psychology played an important role because I needed to understand how people think in order for them to donate to our huge philanthropy event. I wanted to get into the heads of the individuals who were going to donate, and basically bribe them. I used the emotion of guilt to make them feel bad for the children around the community of Terre Haute who wanted gifts for

A mandatory residential team meeting will occur Monday to address the overall functioning of the residential department. The project was in community medicine, and involved repeated trip to a rural community by my group to access their health status, and needs. We had many challenges, but overcame them all as a group. I learnt the act of collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making by consensus building, and most importantly; comradeship.…

During my internship experience, I learned a lot of things that I thought I knew but are misconstrued on. With that being said, I know everything must be done in decent order or this will cause chaos and lead to confusion. I also learned everything takes patience and is very time- consuming. I became frustrated, so many times and just wanted to give up, but I had to remind myself that hard times are going to come and everything is going to work out. Many times I sat on my bed crying because it seems like everything piled on me at one time.…

Furthermore, another theory that I found valuable was the goal setting theory because it directs and energizes people’s behavior. My team members and I set up goals that were challenging, but attainable. This process allowed us to create a life goal plan that was suitable for every member of the team and made them motivated.…
