Great Essays
A very wise and magical man named Walt Disney once said, “if you can dream it, you can do it” (Coombs, 2015). I have had many different jobs over the years, even a stint working for the Walt Disney Company, but ever since I was a little girl I have been dreaming of what my career could be. Now that I am an adult, and I use the term loosely since it still takes some getting used to view myself as an adult, I am very excited about planning my career.
Colorado State University’s Global Campus Career Center Colorado State University’s Global Campus has an amazing asset for anyone looking to begin and/or develop their career at the Career Center. It is an exceptional resource to plan your career. The career center has everything a person could need; from resume writing to job interview preparation to how to become a great employee. I think the strongest resources are the career coaches, the job interview preparation and how you can have a Human Resources professional review your resume. There is also a section on Personal and Career Development. This area helps you develop your career portfolio,

Effective management teams set goals for their employees to achieve each year. One of my goals for 2016 in my department is to develop my leadership skills but running a kaizen event. In order to conduct a kaizen you need to have excellent leadership skills. A kaizen displays a process flow from beginning to end. It could involve meeting with people from within your department as well as different departments and working together to ensure the most efficient processes are in effect. After walking through the process and making improvements when needed all of our findings are presented to the departments involved and sometimes outside departments are invited to view the presentation. I plan on using my kaizen goal to greatly improve my leadership skills. I think it is an excellent goal to enhance my
