Planned Parenthood is an organization that is critical for both men and women to have available. Without funding from the government, people who relied on Planned Parenthood would be without needed health care. Contrary to what people think Planned Parenthood is about more than just abortion, they provide many more services. One thing that no other health care center can do is provide the level of care that Planned Parenthood can. Wether you need to be tested, treated, or just someone to talk to Planned Parenthood is there. Planned Parenthood is a crucial organization that should never cease to be funded. They agree that a woman should be able to choose what happens to her body, and even though it could cause them to lose funding they will not stop fighting for what they believe is right. Planned Parenthood provides abortions because they think that it is a women right to make that choice. Many pro-life supporters disagree and think that Planned Parenthood should lose funding because of this. Planned Parenthood understands that some women can’t have a baby at that time and will provide an abortion with no judgment. What they don’t think about is what would happen if Planned Parenthood no longer supported abortions. Then women would be forced to obtain unsafe abortions, and if that was not an option, then what would happen to the baby. There are many reasons women have abortions and Planned Parenthood understands those reasons. Not every expecting mother has the perfect life, they could be addicted to drugs and no child should have to suffer being born addicted to drugs. Or an expecting mother could be homeless forty eight percent of seventeen year old living on the street are homeless(). This testing is relied on by many patients and would be a devastating loss if Planned Parenthood was defunded. One of the test most sought after at Planned Parenthood is STD tests. Planned Parenthood tests for more std than the average health care provider. And patients are less embarrassed to go to a Planned Parenthood for a test rather than going to their normal doctor. Along with STD testing they will also do tests that screen for cancer. These tests are not limited to women either, testicular cancer screening is available and men can be tested for STDs. Many women go to Planned Parenthood for a yearly test for cancer this visit could include a mammogram, checking for breast cancer, pap tests that can determine if you have abnormal cells in your cervix, and a colposcopy which show specific abnormal cells.
