Cristal Lynch who is a gynecologist and an activist for women’s rights and Planned Parenthood. “ Planned Parenthood has provided much needed services to many communities for decades. I think the biggest misconception about Planned Parenthood clinics is that they only provide abortions for the masses of poor women on the dole. This could not be further from the truth. Planned Parenthood provides contraceptive counseling, STD detection and treatment, routine Pap smears, colposcopy for the abnormal pap, breast exams as well as a small percentage of abortion procedures. Furthermore, the services are provided to women across a wide range of socioeconomic strata. There are career women who may be in between jobs who used Planned Parenthood. Older women who use Planned Parenthood as well as teens. What is happening right now in the culture with all the politicizing of women’s health in this country makes me sick. If Planned Parenthood were an organization solely proving services to men, I dare say you would see none of these awful attacks and misrepresentations taking place.” Dr. Cristal Lynch strongly believes women’s healthcare is not equal to men. In “ Pedagogy of the Oppressed,” Freire talks about human qualities such as freedom, understanding, and integrity. Women do not receive the proper rights that a human should have when it comes to their personal reproduction rights and healthcare. Dr. Cristal Lynch says that if Planned Parenthood were providing services to solely men, politicians would not try to shut it down. Organizations such as the National Women’s Health Network fight everyday for women to obtain the proper healthcare they deserve. This group has connected people across the country working to end the various forms of injustice impacting

Planned Parenthood should not lose any funding or be shut down. Despite recent abortion controversies, Planned Parenthood should not be held responsible for pro-abortion advocates. The organization is pro-choice, and intends to give the choice back to the people in order to allow them to choose a better life for themselves. If Planned Parenthood loses its funding or gets shut down, people everywhere, but especially low-income families, will be put in a difficult standing in affordable health care and wellness. Furthermore, shutting down Planned Parenthood would put many people at a greater health risk than they have now, and worst yet, it will not end abortion.…

Knowing that they can easily get free birth control and abortions, women have lost the sense of gravity and morality that life should be treated with. To lessen the number of abortions carried out annually—a daunting 50 million—women must face reality, they are condoning the killing of their baby, not an "it. " People can't “abort children,”—they can either keep them alive or kill them. A person should not be disposable.…

A woman should be the only one who can decide what is best for her body.
