I've spent most of the weekend out on the streets marching, and I wanted to share a few of my thoughts while they're still fresh.

Friday, I joined my comrades in taking the streets for #ResistFromDayOne protests, and it was beautiful. Rather than applauding the lies and empty promises of self-interested politicians at the inauguration (even / especially in a hypothetical Clinton victory), it was a decentralized movement, a coming together of indigenous activists, socialists, anti-fascists, BLM, anti-capitalists, and young people. It was a beautiful display of unity, comradary, public art, dissent, and of the will of the people to move beyond our broken political system to make the …show more content…
No person's life is improved by being "With Her" and holding "Hope" and "Change" so that our next election cycle transfers minimal power between hands in the same oppressive institution that is the US government to give continue giving the impression that we live in a democratic society, when instead the power belongs in Our hands.
Although the repeal of the ACA and the defunding of Planned Parenthood is making healthcare inaccessible for millions, rather than rallying for federal govt intervention, the solution is People power. The solution is taking ownership of our bodies, our lives, and our health, to invest in community-owned health services that are accessible, affordable, compassionate, and comfortable for 100% of the community it serves. The fed has failed us as it has hundreds of times before, and as it will continue to unless we stop it. People Power is the Real Power and People Power will prevail.
For our biggest oppressors lie not in Washington, but within ourselves, it is our inability to take action, to take control, to take power, and to create the best world for ourselves
