To start Planned Parenthood is an organization that provides sexual health care to women including std diagnosis/treatment, birth control, and abortions. The problem is that some people believe that the services are morally wrong. The controversy is based off of the large proportion of abortions PP provides, some estimates say 30% of all abortions are conducted by PP. Some sources say that PP is conducting illegal business as well; specifically selling fetal tissue. Abortion is a heavily debated subject, and completely legal up until the moment of birth. The debate isn't about the legality rather the morality of killing the unborn child, in comparison to the womans rights to her body. In some of the later trimester

Every unborn child should have the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness in the second and third trimester. In 2010, research shows that states indicated that unborn children are considered humans under tort, property and criminal law (Roden, 2010). By these laws shown, a mother shouldn’t get to choose whether the fetus lives or dies. The unborn child is its own person and by a mother aborting her own child should be considered murder. Under law a child is supposed to be born for many different reasons, including being capable of having a legacy (Roden, 2010).…

The question in question is “should the federal government continue to fund Planned Parenthood?” I think that the government should stay out of personal matters. There are many different avenues to approach Planned Parenthood. My thesis is the government should not fund Planned Parenthood because it is not the taxpayers’ child but it is their money, there are plenty of people that donate to cover the cost of Planned Parenthood, and it should not be placed on the taxpayer to pay for someone else’s choice.…

Over the past few years, the accessibility of healthcare has become a very personal issue to me. My family is just above qualifying for subsidized health insurance, but right below being able to afford our own. We neglect our health and wellbeing because there is little we can do about choosing between paying our bills to keep a roof over our heads versus seeing the doctor for chronic health issues that can be alleviated (but not truly resolved) with a bottle of aspirin. While I do not have a regular primary care doctor, I am fortuitous enough to be able to have access to an affordable, nearby clinic. Having experienced years of debilitating periods, the knowledgeable workers of Planned Parenthood quickly addressed my problem and provided me with information about the most affordable and effective options available.…

This is a huge concern when it comes to pregnancy and prenatal harm. The mother that is carrying the child still has rights to autonomy and control over herself. Yet, the fetus also has the right to life and right to life without harm. Establishing a parity between the life of a fetus and the life of the mother is very difficult. Minkoff and Paltrow said, "In so doing, they suggest a need to balance rights when those rights appear to conflict with each other, and potentially to subordinate the rights of the women to those of the fetus" (Minkoff and Paltrow, p. 757).…

As any social issue, abortions are one of the many topics that everyone seems to have an opinion on. According to the 2012 Merriam-Webster dictionary, an abortion is, “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus as a spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation--miscarriage, the induced expulsion of a human fetus, or the expulsion of a fetus by a domestic animal often due to infection at any time before completion of pregnancy.” (Elliot) Abortions; like every controversial issue, will most likely never be agreed upon by the human race. In the midst of the controversy, two groups have arose.…

I.Introduction The topic of abortion is currently one of the most controversial issues. The 1973 supreme court ruling of Roe v. Wade allowed for women to legally obtain abortions throughout their entire pregnancy, however, conditions were put into place that allowed for states to regulate abortions during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. The right to have an abortion is protected under the constitution’s 14th amendment which protects the basic rights of citizens. This ruling has left our country divided in half by those who are for and against abortion. Those who oppose Roe v. Wade are referred to as pro-life and those in agreement are pro-choice.…
