July 21st, 2015. Controversy rose again after videos depicting Planned Parenthood officials bartering over the price of aborted baby parts were released. Many people were astounded and many more were disgusted. Everyone had a reaction, and a common one was to question whether or not the government should be funding an organization that commits horrendous acts such as those in the videos. Should the government be giving half a billion dollars to an organization with such little regard for human life? Many came to the conclusion that all federal funding of Planned Parenthood should cease because American citizens don’t want to be funding the organization, the group is constantly skirting the law, and the services provided are immoral and unacceptable.
The opposition would say that without federal funding, Planned Parenthood could not continue to provide life saving health care for women nation wide. A Pro-Life group launched a website, GetYourCare.org, to provide women with alternative organizations to Planned Parenthood. These clinics all provide cancer screenings, STD tests,

Naturally these numbers rose after the release of the seven videos depicting Planned Parenthood officials bartering over the price of baby parts. Nevertheless, there are numerous pro-life groups throughout the United States of America with long member lists, most of whom do not condone the federal finances provided to Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood vs. Right-Wing Conservatives Planned Parenthood is a non-profit, government funded organization that provides mostly women’s health services (abortion, STD screening, birth control). Recently, a heavily edited video was released by the Center for Medical Progress that provides alleged evidence of the non-profit Planned Parenthood receiving “compensation” for aborted fetal tissue. Obviously, this video brought up concerns and much controversy between those in support of and against Planned Parenthood. Conservatives in Congress now believe Planned Parenthood no longer deserves government funding; however, Planned Parenthood provides useful and sometimes life-saving services to men and women, therefore demonstrates a pressing…

Planned Parenthood should not lose any funding or be shut down. Despite recent abortion controversies, Planned Parenthood should not be held responsible for pro-abortion advocates. The organization is pro-choice, and intends to give the choice back to the people in order to allow them to choose a better life for themselves. If Planned Parenthood loses its funding or gets shut down, people everywhere, but especially low-income families, will be put in a difficult standing in affordable health care and wellness. Furthermore, shutting down Planned Parenthood would put many people at a greater health risk than they have now, and worst yet, it will not end abortion.…

By preventing Planned Parenthood from receiving federal money, it means people with government funded health care cannot use it for the services provided at the clinics. Many people do not know the exact statistics of the services Planned Parenthood provide, and because of that they may have skewed ideas of the clinic. Without federal funding Planned Parenthood patients who use government provided health care would have to pay for all of the services of the clinic out of their own pocket (Bassett). For people with private health care, this would not be an issue, but for others who lack the money to pay for private health care, they may be in trouble. Planned Parenthood has said that two-thirds of their patients are “low-income and have no other primary health care provider” (Bassett).…

Women’s rights has been an issue in the United States since the early 1800’s and until all people are comfortable discussing the fact that in many parts of the world, women have no say in what they can do with their bodies or how it’s treated. A woman should be the only one who can decide what is best for her body. There is only so much that women can do when the one place that helps women with checkups and abortion based questions, Planned Parenthood, is being defunded or closed down. “The House of Representatives is expected to pass a budget reconciliation bill that guts the Affordable Care Act, pulls roughly $450 million in federal assistance from Planned Parenthood and prevents Medicaid recipients from getting reimbursed…
