History
Many people would agree that Planet Of The Apes was an iconic film, which is probably why they made multiple movies and a tv show. The film was revolutionary for the prosthetics they used for the apes. The film even won an Academy Award for its makeup effort. The movie actually started out as an idea for The Twilight Zone but it was too expensive for the show to make, so they brought it to 20th Century Fox. When they brought it to Fox they had to make a quick test scene. The movie ended up being released February 8th, 1968. The 911 operating system idea is an important part of the emergency services which save many people’s lives each day. The United Kingdom started testing it out with 999 in 1937. The idea for the United States to start the 911 system was brought up by The National Association of Fire Chiefs because they thought it would be a good idea to use a single number to report fires. At&t announced what the emergency services number would be 911 because it is easily remembered and it is an uncommon number. On February 19, 1968 the first ever call for 911 was placed by an Alabama speaker of the house at the time.

Paper 1 I choose to do this specific part of the class assignment because I instantly was able to think of these two films. They are classic examples of films that are well known for having a strong political and social message. In the first film that I chose, Planet of the Apes (1968) these messages were implicit because they do not immediately jump out at you. In the second film, I chose Billy Jack (1971) these were messages were extremely explicit in nature because they jump right out at you throughout the film. Regarding their ideological themes, these films are both written very left leaning according to the model that Giannetti describes.…

I chose "The Planet of the Apes" movies to demonstrate how the New Era was involved in the process of creating each movie. The Planet of the Apes started back in 1968 and has run through 2014, and there is the plan to have another movie come out in 2017. I as a child into my adulthood always enjoyed these movies because I found it interesting to see how the movie would evolve from one movie to the other. In the first series I had great compassion for the Ape and could not understand while they were treated so badly, and why they had to be chained up. Then came the part of the series that the Apes became intelligent, and now were going to enslave the humans.…
