This contraption flies around and can carry just about anything that is not attached to the ground. The creators of the first successful plane flight, as we all know well, are the Wright brothers, Wilber and Orville Wright. Their invention throughout time was revolutionized, even women, during this period, and took part in the inventing of flying. The brother’s success went from slow and steady glider planes to new and improved jets in an amount of 60 to 70 years. Reason being so that people will not tear apart the original. The museum also shows the tools they used, who helped them achieve their success, the development of how planes changed the world (History.com Staff). On the fields of where the planes landed are the marking of the distance they flew. Tourists can walk along the length of them, or climb to the top of the hill where the memorial stands tall and proud. On the edges of the memorial are the faces of Wilber and Orville Wright. By being a "good" inventor you have to design, plan, test, and make your invention perfect. Some scientists ultimately fail, but Orville and Wilbur Wright definitely didn't- they invented the first motor aircraft that we still use almost 100 years later! They were obviously good scientists! When the Wright brothers were building and testing their new airplane, they had people helping them throughout the process. At a time when the Wright brother's propeller shafts, the part of the airplane responsible for making the propellers spin, got damaged by the vibration of the motor, they sent the parts to their trusted machine.…

Although writer Douglas Adams may have envisioned flying as “learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss”, Lieutenant Colonel Alfred Cunningham foresaw the future of the US Navy. Since the introduction of the Wright Brother’s Military flyer in 1909, aircraft have revolutionized the art of war, allowing warfare to transcend the ground and sea. Modern US Naval Aviation, currently boasting over 3,700 operational aircraft, owes its origins to Lt. Col. Alfred Cunningham, who was among the first to advocate for the use of airplanes in military operations. Lt. Col. Cunningham’s love affair with aviation began following a ride in a hot air balloon in 1903. This inspired him to lease a plane dubbed “ Noisy Nan” for $25 a month so that he could teach himself how to fly.…

Because of this, they began working on a solution so that they, too, could fly. They brought together the top scientists and inventors from around the globe to assist them with this. However, instead of dreaming up planes like we have, they took a vastly different approach.…

The NACA, or the National Advisory Council for Aeronautics developed things such as the wind tunnel, allowing for effective development of aircraft. The NACA was also able to develop a system that negated the threat of ice, which would collect on planes and could cause them to crash (Dunbar). As well as new minor developments, one of the most influential aircraft advancements was made during WWII. This is the jet engine, which allowed for extremely fast and efficient travel. The Germans who first flew jet engines were travelling significantly faster than the allied forces were used to, so it made shooting the planes down extremely difficult.…

During World War 1 some countries used planes at the latter end of the war for military purposes. Several farsighted European entrepreneurs, emboldened by wartime progress in aviation, envisioned the possibilities of postwar airline travel. Although not many airfields existed, aircrafts of the postwar era could and did use relatively short sod runways for years, meaning that locating suitable airports near most cites was not a formidable engineering challenge. The entrepreneurs modified stocks of military planes especially bombers to accommodate passengers and mail. Airliners ran newspaper advertisements after World War 1 trying to bring wealthy businesses and wealthy families to the airline to travel instead of by steam boat or train.…

Ever since I was a little kid, planes have always stolen my attention away. When riding in a car with the windows down I would pretend my hand was a plane in the wind and for those brief moments I was the captain of the plane. My whole life I grew up in Olathe, Kansas in a medium size home with my older sister who is named Ashley and my mom and dad (Mallery and William). My dad is the one who introduced my life to aviation; since he was in the military I would see the huge aircraft and helicopters almost all the time. The men and women who flew those awe-inspiring machines always looked so…

They didn't have fifty people to help them out, the most they had was a mechanic and the life crew helped out at the…
