First she needs to work ono sounding out unfamiliar words. Based on the inventory, she tends to either skip the word all together or take the first two letters of a word and say the first word that comes to mind with the same beginning letters; whether it makes sense or not. Since she has trouble sounding out words, this interrupts her fluency, which in-effect leads to lower comprehension percentages. This is basically a cycle that will continue over and over until she receives some assistance in this area. My plan to address this issue is to take words she missed in the passages, as well as some others, and to use a popsicle stick. The popsicle stick will cover all of the letters except the first one. She will make the sounds of the first letter, uncover the second letter and add that sound and continue until she has pronounced the entire word. We will do this exercise with all of the words until she is comfortable doing this without the popsicle stick. This activity should help her to sound out words on her own, when she is reading, which should help her fluency and comprehension. Another factor that Imani seemed to struggle with was inferencing. Inferencing is when you determine a fact or idea based on your life experiences. Imai seemed to struggle with this concept. In
