PLAN FOR THE PROVISION OF PATIENT SERVICES
1) SERVICE MISSION/PHILOSOPHY/GOALS AND OJECTIVES:
a) The primary mission of the Mental Health Care Line (MHCL) is to provide quality mental health services to individuals who are experiencing identifiable mental health problems. These services are designed to help the individual attain and maintain maximum levels of biological, psychological, social, and spiritual functioning. The MHCL provides a wide range of services through a continuum of care to meet the identified needs of its customers. The MHCL works cooperatively with state and local health care providers to deliver comprehensive, effective, and efficient services and to assure continuity of care and service delivery.

iv) To work to eliminate homelessness in Veterans.
v) To provide medical treatment through the Agave Team and coordinate with the MHC for patients with selected Serious mental illness psychiatric diagnoses.
vi) To provide telemental health, Psychiatry, and on site psychotherapy at the CBOCs.
vii) To conduct annual stand-downs.
viii) To expand opportunities for community partnerships, including with the DOD, Indian Health Services (IHS), and local community mental health programs.
2) SERVICE ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE: T The MHCL is under the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS), and the Chief of Mental Health reports directly to the DCOS. Mental Health has a multidisciplinary team of clinical directors and supervisors. The care line is organized into five clinical sections. These clinical areas are:
i) Outpatient Specialty Mental Health ii) Inpatient psychiatry/Detox iii) Rehabilitation Programs iv) Homeless Program
v) Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC)/ Primary Care
