WHAT WAS THE DEAL? To retain a major corporation in Plainview City buy finding out what their grievances are, and figure out a better way to address it, without mortgaging the future of the community. Also, to address the issue regarding carbon pollution that has been plaguing the city, and causing the inhabitant to be sick as a result of their exposure to the toxic pollutant.
WHO COULD NOT MAKE A DEAL? Everyone including the EPA, the city council, the president, and head of research and development from the Roadhandler company, and everyone made a deal.
WHICH PARTIES HELPED MAKE THE DEAL AND WHICH ONES HINDERED THE DEAL? The three parties involved in the deal making are the EPA, the city council, and the Roadhandler company all played a major role in the resolution of the pressing issues. The representative from the EPA, stated that pollution citation will not be dropped even a company relocates, the only way out is to resolve the safety/pollution breach.
The President (Roadhandler company): they are big corporation that many small businesses in Plainview city depend on. They hire about 3500 workers, who are local residents. They felt that relocating the manufacturing plant will cost less, than fixing the problem associated with pollution control. Their representative had a rethink when the EPA representative told her that the citation remains until they comply, regardless of their location within the country, as EPA is federal agency, and not Plainview City agency.
IN RETROSPECT, HOW MIGHT YOU HAVE DONE THIS BETTER? From my role, there is not much I could have done, but I would love to shop for new companies through Plainview chamber of commerce, in other to have the least to lose, should Roadhandler
