In the article, “Plagiarism, as common as it is these days, remains reprehensible,” Jim Carnett wrote to the LA Times about how you can plagiarize yourself. With all the websites/ software today that can detect plagiarism, it makes it easier to find out if somebody is taking somebody else’s work and not giving them credit for it (this would be defined as plagiarism). Due to this, there are numerous amounts of people getting accused of stealing another person’s work. This needs to be condemned. We can’t have people going around stealing work and claiming it to be their own. “I lifted a portion of one of my columns and inserted it in the Daily Pilot piece without attribution” (Carnett).
