All throughout middle and high school in all my English classes all you heard was “MAKE SURE YOU CITE YOUR SOURCES.” For years that’s all I heard. Then once I got into college it was different. For the first week or so plagiarism was a reoccurring theme but after about two weeks we didn’t really talk about it much. I believe this is because at that point if you didn’t know how to avoid plagiarism or at least know what it was, then you were not paying attention in grade school. That’s also why I think it is so important to at least touch base with plagiarism no matter what level education you are in. That’s exactly what you will find in this paper.

1. Indicate all quotations with quotation marks or block indentation.
2. Create a bibliographic entry for each source.
3. Never cut and paste a web passage directly.
4. Use in-text-citations to indicate sources for all visuals and media.
5. Use in-text-citations for all ideas and facts that are not common knowledge.
