Narrative & Composition The Incredibles Film Analysis Portfolio

The reason I chose the 2004 Pixar Animation film The Incredibles, directed by Brad Bird, as my independent film analysis is because of, despite it being a children's film, there is so much more meaning to the computer animated superhero movie than it simply being an entertainment for toddlers. Some qualities the film explores are the way the public interacts with people who have amazing extraordinary abilities; it demonstrates how society prefers to have basic individuals rather than unique people; and suggests that normal people can't become great, no matter how much determination is present. The movie also does an amazing job with giving the family different goals they wish to aspire but only do so when they come together as a family.

In the film The Incredibles, Bob Incredible was once the city's hero but now he's

This can be seen throughout the movie as he does not tell the truth about his new job, but instead keeps it to himself. He is so blinded by the excitement of becoming a hero once again that he doesn't see the potential harm awaiting. Bob's first step when facing his shadow is when he realizes his family is so precious. Syndrome demonstrates this when he launches a missile at Helen and the kids blowing the jet plane out of the sky. Bob thinks his family is dead and right away recognizes exactly what is most important in his life. Bob faces his shadow fully when he and his family are captured in Syndromes base later on after working together to fight their way off the island. They all apologize for their faults and are all reconnected mentally and physically. Bob then knows what his top priority in life is and it's to be there for his

Another great example for production design in science fiction movies is the movie Ex Machina. To begin with, production design includes the design of sets which makes set design one of the most important aspects while producing a movie. For example, one of the points set design deals with is the location where the film is going to be shot. Funderburg (2015) explained that in the movie Ex Machina, they used two Norwegian locations both designed by the architects Jensen & Skodvin. One of the locations is a private mansion and the second one is the Juvet Landscape Hotel, which consists of single suites secretly linked to the fjord and forest around them (para. 2).…

I watched Fatal Attraction with a friend and I said to him "that's what you get when you just want some fun for the weekend". Although going with Alex was a decision Dan made it was very unfortunate that the woman he had an affair with was extremly crazy. I doubt that Alex got pregnen, if she was obssesed with Dan she could have made everything up. I don't belive Dan seen as a hero at the end of the movie because it has his wife the one that had the last shot, literally in the theatrical ending and figuratevly in the orginal ending.…

This is how Randy ends up underdeveloped. However in the book we are given the insight in the book that it is possible for him to have feelings it comes as a surprise since the Socs aren’t known for sharing their feelings, and are said not to have a care in the world. In the book Randy is more well developed because we get the insight and the full conversation and thoughts and feelings of Ponyboy. Bob is a whole different story because we are completely oblivious of half of his personality in the movie, because it is never shown. “Sweet and friendly stand out in a crowd - that’s what she said.…

“Unbroken” is a movie that captures the feeling of when you look inside at what everyone hopes is there, and that is, that we are just as the title says, “Unbreakable”. A quality everyone hopes to have but most never actually find out, until they are thrown right into a situation where it can mean the difference between life and death, just as Louis Zamperini was, by living his life with a moto his brother told him when he was younger “If you can take it, you can make it” he was able to become just that “Unbroken” which is why this movie is a must watch. Louis had a troubled childhood until he gained further guidance from his older brother Pete. Louis was the son of an Italian immigrant, due to his Italian heritage, he was bullied a lot by…

One thing that is particularly mysterious or strange is the narrator’s view of the blind man. The narrator himself states that he has never had a blind friend before, and clearly does not know how to act around someone lacking the ability of sight. In the beginning, the narrator has a close-minded and straightforward viewpoint about his thoughts and opinions. He only sees what is on the surface of a person, not what lies beneath them in their character. By spending time with Robert, who is an open-minded and compassionate person himself, he learns to see from a new and different perspective.…

This scene does not necessarily indicate that the narrator is on his way to becoming a changed man, but it does reveal the possibility of a deeper and more meaningful life for him. It shows the narrator starting to be honest with himself, even if only minimally. It is the first time in the story he seems to truly value anything when he says to Robert, “It’s really something” (743).…
