The college years are a combination of social and academic challenges or opportunities to find out who you want to be and what you want to do. Barden University has much to offer but their main draw for many new and current students is the prestige of serving as a member of the many acapella groups on campus. In Pitch Perfect, there is fierce competition and embarrassing moments, as well as developing relationships, realizing the power of teamwork and compromise as well as the numerous highs and lows of life. Director Jason Moore (with writer Kay Cannon) did a fabulous job selling the idea that staying true to oneself is possible even with compromise, and that sometimes making small changes to your thinking can have a big impact on your success. Pitch Perfect is about just that, the idea that with hard work and an open mind, a group can find their way in a world calling for modernization while honoring …show more content…
After exploring her options for socialization she becomes involved in the Barden Bella’s acapella group. Chloe (Brittany Snow) and Aubrey (Anna Camp) are the only two remaining members of the Bella’s and therefore need to repopulate their squad. After a disastrous performance at the previous finals, the Bella’s need to regroup and find their new look and sound. The auditions lead to filling the open spots with an unusual assortment of personalities- quiet oddballs, deafening Drama Queens, and those that just want to party. Buckled down by the overly traditional Bella leaders, Becca’s creative, spontaneous, cutting-edge talent has no room to shine. Once the first competition rolls around with the Bella’s same old routine, Becca takes a risky move by overlapping the classic 90’s song “I Saw the Sign” with the modern “Bulletproof??”. This action may not have been well liked by the other Bella’s, but it squeaked them through to the next
