Pitch Lake is located in southwest Trinidad in the village of La Brea. It is the largest pitch lake in the world. It is also the most important lake in the world. It is almost one hundred acres. They say its almost seventy six meters in the center. There is liquid asphalt and it is black and thick. the surface is semisolid. You can walk on it but you can not just stand on it . You can sink in it. This lake was created thousand of years ago by the process of subduction. this lake is mixed with oil, clay, and water. you could take some of the asphalt and it will dry and harden.
