Pippa Alternate Ending

She was dead, stone cold, gone. Pippa’s life evaporated before her eyes all because of a drunk driving incident, who even drives intoxicated at four in the afternoon, anyway? Once she awoke, she found herself in a place that had this white hue to it, everything was either white or gold. She opened and closed her eyes slowly, trying to make sure that this wasn’t some messed up dream where she’d died and ended up in Heaven… it wasn’t. Pippa took a deep breath and continued walking onwards, toward the long line of people that were just standing in some line. She peered forward, it appeared to go on forever. Sighing, she slipped behind some man with a bit of a paunch and started chattering with him. Furthermore attempting to get a grip of her new surroundings.

“Hey, is this Heaven?” she started.

“No,

She would be back in her family and able to see them again. This was all going perfectly swimmingly.

“Yes! I agree to your little terms of conditions! Send me off!” Pippa said giddily.

The angel simply nodded,
“I wish you good luck in your new life.” she responded before snapping her fingers and Pippa was sent back to the living world.

Oh my gosh! I’m going to be alive again! In just a few seconds, I’ll have a life again. And Riley is so sweet, I’m sure my new life will be fantabulous! Just wait and see!

However, as Pippa’s formless soul was free-falling down to the hospital, another soul rammed into her by accident and knocked her off gear. She wasn’t heading down to the hospital anymore, no, she was hurling right to a long-haired guy.
No, no, no! This can’t be happening! she internally screamed before being completely engulfed in his body. Pippa inwardly cussed the soul that had taken her place in the hospital, that could’ve been her, that was supposed to be her. Now, she was stuck in the body of some man that looked around her age, maybe slightly

This quote shows that lately Pip has been very stressed, so much because he knew someone was watching him. He has been so worried that he decided he needed to take a break and get out of his normal routine, so he went to see the play Wopsle was in. Wopsle later tells him that he recognized the man sitting behind him as the other convict that they caught a long time ago, who Pip knows as Compeyson. Pip describes how the few moments he let his guard down was when what he had been stressing about actually occurred, thus causing him more anxiety after. Pip even uses the simile “as if I had shut an avenue of a hundred doors to keep him out, and then had found him at my elbow” to describe how he had done anything and everything he could to keep him away and it wasn’t until he took a breath that Compeyson was closest.…

But the book shows that Pip has a heart even if Miss Havisham did and made Estella not have a heart. Pip went back in the house to save Miss Havisham from the fire. Finally, I personally feel that this incident reinforced the novel’s theme that bad behavior can be redeemed by remorse and sympathy. Also no matter how cruel someone can be to a person, they will still be nice to you.…

I’m curious to know why she had Pip in the first place then? It’s terrible to read that a seven-year-old feels bad about his existence to the point where it’s almost like a crime. The way that Mrs. Gargery constantly physically, emotionally, and verbally abuses her own brother has probably led Pip to think that he deserves to be punished.…

This is portrayed when Joe and Pip have a parley when Pip returns from the cemetery, and Joe expresses to Pip, “I wish it was only me that got put out, Pip; I wish there warn 't no Tickler for you, old chap; I wish I could take it all on myself.” (38) This exemplifies how Mrs. Joe’s violence and physical abuse is placed upon Joe and Pip, unlike stereotypical traits say that the man is the one who abuses his woman, showing the reversal of gender roles that is evident in Great Expectations. Furthermore, as the novel progresses, Pip recalls his relationship with Joe upon his sick days, when Joe had nursed Pip back to health. Pip says, “For the tenderness of Joe was so beautifully proportioned to my need that I was like a child in his hands.…

But that poor dream, as I onced used to call it, has all gone by, Biddy, all gone by!”(Dickens 378).
