For students, the technology content offers audio summaries, links to videos, animation and graphic organizers. On-line students have access to a media toolkit and a student presentation builder. This allows students to create responses to the text, once again allowing students to make a connection to what they learned. As a person limited with technology experience, I label myself as being a ‘digital immigrant’. I faced the challenge of creating an infographic and I did not understand how to use Piktochart effectively or to create one that is graphic and visually displayed for the ‘digital natives’ who prefer graphics before paper (Prensky,2001). I felt frustrated that a simple task of inserting a line proved difficult and that the templates were ‘too short’ , where alternatively, I could just clone or drag the block to enlarge it.…

Post 1:Principles for Fair Student Assessment Practices for Education in Canada "Assessment methods should be suited to the backgrounds and prior experiences of students. Students' success in answering questions on a test or in an oral quiz, for example, should not be dependent upon prior cultural knowledge, such as understanding an allusion to a cultural tradition or value, unless such knowledge falls 5 within the content domain being assessed. All students should be given the same opportunity to display their strengths" All that I…

The pervasiveness of capitalism affects our everyday lives, as humans strive for stability, productivity, and predictability. Without such domineering authority, our world would become unproductive and disorderly. The sudden emergence of anti-capitalistic standards has permeated into mainstream media, mainly through DIY projects, Pinterest, and Etsy shops. These digital tools which are linked include a website where they learn how to create movies, an integrated online worksheet where they simultaneously organise their event day and a reflection PowerPoint which requires them to edit a slide each and present their reflection with the rest of the class. These resources are all linked to a hub website we created where they can find all the information required for the unit.…

Technology can be arranged to fit any lesson plan and can also improve engagement because it something that children use on the daily basis within their homes.
