Pink Floyd is to acid rock as Ford is to cars. Drugs played an important roll in their creation of music. Pink Floyd still has some members living and making music. Floyds fans were getting tired of waiting for new music so on July 2nd, 2005 Pink Floyd was on stage with Rodger Waters for a fundraiser. In 2016 David Gilmour put on a concert for his fans. Pink Floyd had an interesting career. They helped create acid rock and earned several awards. Pink Floyd won 3 grammys and they were brought into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Pink Floyd is broke up now but how they came toghether through Childhood is interesting.

Barrett was becoming more and more undependable throughout the years and while Pink Floyd was creating a new album Barrett refused to mouth the words to his own song. Pink Floyd had alot more names before they decided just on Pink Floyd but the band names was the least of their worries shortly after the band started creating music they broke up. Pink Floyds band broke up not long after they began althought they are not together any more this is how they got their name. Barrett got the name Pink Floyd from Pink Anderson and Floyd Council. Barrett took Pink out of Pink Anderson and Floyd out of Floyd Council to create the name Pink Floyd. Some people think that Pink Floyd is just one person that confused a lot of people. Pink Anderson and Floyd Council were major inspirations for Barrett. With a catchy name like Pink Floyd it wouldn’t take long for them to be noticed.
Pink Floyd became famous because of the their famous album The Wall and it was on Billboards Top 200 for longer than any other release in history. Pink Floyd booked their first gig on October 12, 1965 in London. Pink Floyd teamed up with a lot of other musicians to create a concert in Hyde Park. The Berlin Wall went down and Rodger Waters held a concert called “The Wall”. During the concert Rodger Waters had other musicians and bands play with him. The concert “The Wall” was held where the Berlin Wall once was. Rodger Waters played some of Pink Floyd material and his own material. Although the band still has some members creating and playing music, there were some struggles during their band carrer. Waters, Mason, and Gilmour had something happen between them. No one knows what happend between them but one day Waters took Mason and Gilmour to court and asked the judge that they would be blocked from using the name Pink Floyd. After Waters, Mason, and Gilmour went to court, Mason and Gilmour got banned from using the name Pink Floyd. Shortly after that the band Pink Floyd broke up.
