Pink and Say was written by Patricia Polacco about a true story of her great great grandfather and a boy who saved his life, the story takes you through their adventure in the civil war, until the end.
One of the themes Pink and Say demonstrated is Perseverance. An example is when, Pinkus was about ready to give up since his mom died he could have stopped right then and not moved on but instead he kept going because he knew it’s what his mom would have wanted him to do. Pinkus said to his mom, “We put you in harms way by being here,” Pinkus cried, “your son loves you, Moe Moe Bay. Your son loves you,” that quote shows how his relationship with his mom effected the choice he was going to make. He managed to persevere even through that hard time. …show more content…
