Pinch The Balloon Experiment

Improved Essays
For this experiment you must have a balloon, a funnel, sugar, yeast, a ruler, water, measuring spoons, and some string. First, you fit the opening of the balloon snuggly into the narrowing part of the funnel. Second, you carefully pour in a tablespoon of active dry yeast and a teaspoon of sugar into the wide part of the funnel. Once you have all those ingredients settled in the balloon, you're going to remove the opening of the balloon from the funnel. After that, you attach your balloon to the sink where the water comes out from. Pinch the balloon from the top and turn the sink knob and leave on for 3-4 seconds and then turn off the water. Then, you attentively remove the balloon from the sink and let out the air in the balloon. Now,

In this experiment I attempted to created and study the affects of a egg in a hypertonic and hypotonic solution. To conduct this experiment I used the following materials: cups, eggs, vinegar, corn syrup, spoons and food coloring. To begin the experiment I placed three eggs in vinegar to dissolve their shells, leaving behind a thin membrane that allowed water to pass in and out of the eggs. The water molecules enter inside the eggs and the eggs begins to swell. Once the eggs have sat in the vinegar for two days I removed one from the vinegar, washed the eggs and placed it in the corn syrup.…

The materials given were three raw chicken eggs, vinegar, maple syrup, tap water, and table salt. Prior to beginning the experiment, the raw chicken eggs were saturated in vinegar for two days, in order to remove the outer shell. Also before beginning the experiment, the mass of the glass dish was obtained, via a triple beam balance, for measuring/zeroing purposes. On the day of the experiment, the three raw eggs were removed from their vinegar bath and rinsed under a stream of tap water, running from a faucet. After rinsing, each egg was patted dry, placed in a glass dish, and measured b y a triple beam balance, in order to obtain the initial mass of the egg.…

    Bottle Rocket Experiment

Discussion It can be seen from the experimental data, that the relationship between the difference in initial pressure inside the bottle rocket and the atmosphere, and the vertical height reached by the bottle rocket after 0.1 seconds, is proportional. This is quantitatively demonstrated by the high R2 value of 0.99533 of the graphed relationship, which indicates the likeness of points in a data set to an established trend; where 1 = a perfect relationship. The gradient of 0.0236 in the best fit regression line of the data, indicates that for every increase of 1 PSI in pressure inside the rocket, 0.0236 more vertical meters were travelled by the rocket in the first 0.1 seconds of its motion. This is only approximately 30% of the distance per PSI increase value of the predicted function in the hypothesis, which postulated that 0.0792m more would be covered in the first 0.1 seconds of motion per increase of 1 PSI.…

Determining The Process of Photosynthesis And Cellular Respiration Using Elodea and Yeast Introduction Photosynthesis is an essential process to life on earth, in which plants and other organisms use sunlight to create food from oxygen, and carbon dioxide. Cellular respiration is when energy in food is released and converted to ATP, which is then used as chemical energy to complete tasks within a cell. This process usually requires oxygen and releases carbon dioxide. Photosynthesis and cellular respiration are similar in some areas and different in others. The purpose of both of the process is to produce energy, but they have different ways of achieving this goal.…

The way how the experiment works is pretty easy, everyone knows what the baking soda and the vinegar do when they mix. The tissue with the baking soda is so that you get a little bit of time to close the bag when the mix of the vinegar and the baking soda start to erupt. When you close the bag, carbon dioxide starts to fill up the bag and it starts to inflate, until, it is so full of carbon dioxide, that it pops. But sometimes it does not blow up the bag, Sometimes the carbon dioxide only inflates the bag until it looks like it is about to pop, but it just stays like that and it never explodes.…

As technology is commonly defined as the application of science , Steven Shapin’s “literary technology’ describing the experiments produced by natural philosophers of the seventeenth century can be argued as a form of ‘technology’. Natural philosopher, Robert Boyle, whom we would today refer to as a scientist, established a set of guidelines for literary technology in generating knowledge. Therefore, the literary technology promotes scientific communication as a means of producing knowledge to a newly established scientific public. One aspect, which illustrates that language is technology, is evident through Boyle’s Air Pump experiments as it provided new knowledge about the behaviour of air once it was evacuated from the atmosphere. Boyle’s experiment concerned the observation of the effects of air on animals when it was removed and reintroduced, this was carried out using the pneumatic engine that included a glass ‘receiver’ where the air was pumped out of.…

Briefly speaking about each of the parts, the first one presents the reasoning for social physics, attributing to the themes of social exploration (Chapter 2), idea flow (Chapter 3), and engagement (Chapter 4). The author starts with the explanation how social exploration is deeply connected with the diversity of ideas and social learning, the combination of which is the only way which leads to any innovation. Pentland advocates the “wisdom of the crowd” judgment in contrast to individual opinion, reminding that collective intelligence is used to be the leading one throughout the whole history of humanity. He presents the evidence of an online trading platform where the “wise” optimal lies between the judgement of isolated traders and those…
