Many youth patients spend some part of the day without adult supervision and need assistance staying adherent to their medication therapy. The organizer can be programmed to release only the accurate doses at the appropriate time. Many pillbox organizers do not have a locked safety feature or a reminder feature for children. The customers we are targeting in our study are pediatric patients that are living with more than one chronic disease. The diseases can range from diabetes to cancer. The patients must also be taking more than five medications throughout the day. There are many similar products on the market at lower prices, however, our product has a parental control, has labeled compartments and alerts that make it easier for young patients to take appropriate doses. Our online service and training will provide optimal use of our product. To ensure quality service, all people involved in the product sales will be trained on the features, uses and management of the organizer. Customer feedback and surveys collected will help improve future models of the pillbox organizer. It will be recommended that a follow up with the office or pharmacy the organizer was purchased from obtain information from patients to see if the organizer was successful in promoting medication adherence in children. Data can also be collected from the assistance provided by online chat advisors. After analyzing patient feedback and recommendation, we will reconvene to improve the product to meet patients’ needs.
Economic of market
Currently, there are no other products on the market that serve the same purpose as this product because they are not directed toward our desired audience. Due to technological advancements, the expenses of equipment for creating this product are much less than they would have been ten years ago. Therefore, we are hoping production and labor costs will also be minimal leading to an increase in supply as demand for this new and innovative product increases.
